Estimated financial harm from pardoned crimes (Post-WWII presidents)
Methodology Note
Victim loss estimates are calculated using court-ordered restitution amounts, FBI Uniform Crime Reports, and Bureau of Justice Statistics data. For crimes without direct monetary victims (e.g., some Jan 6 cases), we estimate indirect costs including property damage, security expenditures, and economic disruption. These figures are updated with each 24-hour verification cycle.
Note: Some pardoned individuals may have already made partial or full restitution prior to receiving clemency. Where available, we adjust estimates accordingly.
